When designing and building an optimal reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plant, it is important that engineers select effective membrane parameters for application performance. The selection can determine the success or failure of entire operation. objective this work to review available types design be selected yield highest potential plant operations. Factors such as osmotic pressure, water flux values, resistance will all evaluated functions parameters. optimization these determined through deployment solution-diffusion model devolved from Maxwell Stephan Equation. applying evaluate RO membranes, Equation provides mathematical analysis which steps mass transfer a may observed calculated. A practical study use discussed. This uses diffusion-solution effectiveness variety Toray membranes. confirms two principal hypotheses when using evaluation. First, there inverse relationship between rate. Second, proportional linear overall rate applied pressure across membrane.
